Another huge crowd got to enjoy blue Seattle skies, great BBQ and plenty of beer at the fourth annual Sounders Day on the rooftop deck at EMC/Isilon in Pioneer Square on Wednesday.
The Seattle Sounders FC made it an even better night for the more than 400 tech and soccer geeks who turned out for GeekWire’s event by easily beating FC Dallas 5-0 in a match at CenturyLink Field.
The whole sporting affair was a great way to cap off the inaugural GeekWire Sports Tech Summit, which took place throughout the day just down the street at Safeco Field.
With sweeping views of Elliott Bay, downtown Seattle and CenturyLink Field, sponsor EMC/Isilon again proved to Sounders Day attendees why the company has one of the best workspace locations in Seattle.
Supporting sponsors Booking.com, Flowroute, Taser/Axon, and Qualtrics also made sure folks had a good time as the plates filled up with pulled pork, brisket and corn bread and the cups filled up with local brews.
Across the street in the stadium’s Hawks Nest, Sounders Day fans had plenty to cheer as star Clint Dempsey gave Seattle an early lead and the team dominated the rest of the way.
Thanks again to everyone for coming out and partying with GeekWire and the Sounders! And don’t forget to follow @geekwire_official on Instagram for more photos.
