Amazon announced Tuesday that it will hold a “Prime Big Deal Days” sales event this fall.

  • The October event — specific dates were not revealed — will be available to Prime members across 19 countries, including the U.S. “I can’t wait to give our Prime members access to exclusive early savings this season,” Doug Herrington, CEO Worldwide Amazon Stores, wrote in a LinkedIn post.
  • Amazon last year held two Prime Day events in July and in October. The events help boost sales during traditional lulls in the retail calendar.
  • The Seattle tech giant just put on a Prime Day last month over two days, including one that was the single largest sales day in Amazon’s history. Data from Adobe Analytics shows a record $12.7 billion spent over the two days ($6.4 billion July 11; $6.3 billion on July 12), up 6.1% from last year.
  • Following its debut in 2015, the original Prime Day has become one of the most important annual milestones for Amazon, ultimately expanding to two days and effectively creating a second peak shopping season.
