Boundless Immigration, a Seattle startup that helps immigrants receive visas and citizenships in the U.S., acquired San Francisco-based immigration consulting company Bridge.
Terms of the deal, announced Tuesday, were not disclosed. Boundless will add more than 40 employees from the Bridge team.
Founded in 2011, Bridge has helped more than 1,000 companies hire international talent and implement immigration strategies through its software platform and legal expertise. The company has helped process more than 70,000 immigration applications, with customers including Coca-Cola Enterprises, Vanta, Insider, WebFlow, Opendoor, Carta, and more.
Boundless, spun out of Pioneer Square Labs in 2017, helps immigrants get in touch with lawyers and file applications for spousal visas and U.S. citizenship. The startup has helped more than 73,000 customers, making it one of the largest consumer-focused family immigration companies.
Boundless CEO Xiao Wang told GeekWire that the acquisition will result in the first tech-enabled “one-stop-shop” for both consumer and enterprise-related immigration management services.
“Our combined vision is clear: streamline the system, eradicate its inefficiencies, and most importantly, elevate the journey of every immigrant worker seeking opportunities in the U.S.,” Wang said in a statement.
Boundless said it plans to integrate Bridge’s compliance and reporting features to help its customers meet legal requirements.
Bridge’s existing and potential customers will continue to use its website and app. Visitors to Boundless’ site will be redirected to Bridge for employment immigration-related inquiries. There will not be any immediate changes to pricing or product offerings, Wang said.
This is Boundless’ second acquisition. The startup previously raised $7.5 million to acquire Las Vegas-based rival RapidVisa in 2020, which nearly doubled its headcount at the time. The startup now has more than 250 employees, up from 130 people when it raised $25 million in 2021, the company’s most recent funding round. It ranks No. 46 on the GeekWire 200, our list of top Pacific Northwest startups.
Bridge is led by CEO Romish Badani, who started the company nearly 15 years ago after helping family members navigate the often turbulent U.S. immigration process. The Harvard graduate previously held roles at ZocDoc, TPG Capital, and Goldman Sachs. He’s joined by CTO and co-founder Forrest Blount, a former Google engineer.
Bridge landed a $800,000 seed round in 2014 and is backed by 500 Startups, Ulu Ventures, and a number of angel investors.
