Seattle-based business and technology firm Slalom Consulting laid off about 900 employees in a workforce reduction.
- In a post on LinkedIn describing the layoffs, Slalom CEO Brad Jackson said it was “the most difficult decision we have made in our history.”
- “After extensively exploring and debating every option possible with our senior leaders, executive committee, and board of directors on how to best position our company during this time of significant shifts within our industry and to plan for the future, we have made the painful decision to restructure Slalom,” wrote Jackson, who co-founded Slalom in 2001.
- Slalom provides tech-related services in various industries to clients across the globe including Alaska Airlines, Allstate, eBay, Hyatt, Microsoft, REI, and others. It employed more than 13,000 people before the latest cuts.
- Slalom recently made Fortune’s 100 Best Companies to Work For list for the eighth consecutive year.
- We’ve reached out to the company for more details about the layoffs and we’ll update if we hear back. Update: The company declined to comment beyond Jackson’s post.
