— Picnic CEO Clayton Wood is stepping down from the food automation startup.
The Seattle tech vet joined Picnic in 2018, helping the startup mature from the prototype stage and land nearly $40 million in venture capital to support growth of its food assembly robots.
“It’s been an exhilarating adventure, helping to build a new industry of restaurant automation, and I’m very proud of the work I was able to accomplish with the invaluable assistance of an amazing team of leaders and contributors,” Wood wrote on LinkedIn.
Picnic earlier this month laid off an undisclosed amount of employees.
The company sells a pizza-making robot called the Picnic Pizza Station and announced a partnership with pizza giant Dominos in September.
Wood, a former Honeywell director, previously was CEO of Synapse Product Development and held executive roles at Planetary Power and IUNU.
— Moina Banerjee, chief financial officer of real estate investment trust JBG Smith Properties, joined the board of Expedia Group. Banerjee previously worked at Blackstone Group and Citigroup. She will serve as chair of Expedia’s audit committee.
— Michael Hilton, chief product and innovation officer at healthcare company Accolade, stepped down from the company but is also joining its board, replacing Tom Neff. Hilton previously co-founded travel expense giant Concur with Raj Singh, current CEO and chairman of Accolade.
— Peter Thompson, co-founder of Seattle startup Bizible and a former leader at Adobe, Marketo, and Microsoft, joined San Francisco B2B marketing startup Channel99 as chief technology officer.
— Andrew Oxtoby, former CEO of Aimmune Therapeutics, joined Seattle biotech company Chinook Therapeutics as chief commercial officer.
— Paul Aisen, Sam Gandy, and Charles Glabe joined the board of Seattle biotech startup AltPep.
