— Joanna Lord, a marketing exec who led teams at Seattle companies including Porch Group, Big Door, and Moz, is now chief marketing officer at Spring Health.
The New York-based company provides mental health services to employers and health plans. It reached a $2.5 billion valuation in April after raising $71 million.
Lord, now based in Miami, said she has a “deep personal connection to health and wellness.”
“When I met the team, a few months back now, I was inspired by not just the remarkable product they’ve built but by the size of impact they are already having,” she wrote on LinkedIn. “Millions of people have been and are supported on their mental health journey because of Spring Health, and we are truly just getting started.”
Lord was previously vice president of marketing at Porch; CMO at Big Door; and vice president of growth marketing as Moz. She left Seattle in 2016 to take the CMO role at New York-based ClassPass. More recently she was CMO at Skyscanner and Reforge.
Spring Health hired former Microsoft and Amazon leader Harshit Shah as chief technology officer in 2021.
— Amritansh Raghav, executive vice president of engineering at Seattle sales software startup Outreach, resigned Sept. 21. The company laid off 12% of its workforce this week.
— Venture capital firm Maveron hired Nathan Apsel as chief financial officer. Apsel, based in San Francisco, was previously CFO at Paradigm and 8VC. He replaces Mike Witkowski, who is now CFO at Primary Venture Partners. Maveron has offices in Seattle and San Francisco.
— Pushpay, a Redmond, Wash.- based church technology company, hired Burt Chao as chief financial officer. Chao was previously CFO at Kaleris and Navis.
— Nordstrom added Guy Persaud to its board of directors. Persaud is a longtime exec at Procter & Gamble and is currently president of its global innovation division.
— Jai Jaisimha, a Seattle startup vet who most recently worked as a senior product management leader at Amazon, became an affiliate professor at the University of Washington’s Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering.
— Seattle-based museum MoPop, previously known as EMP, hired Toni Godwin as chief business and strategy officer. Godwin previously spent 24 years at Woodland Park Zoo, most recently as vice president of business operations and strategy.
