— Seattle-based pet insurance company Trupanion named Fawwad Qureshi as CFO.
The appointment, effective Sept. 25, comes after CFO Drew Wolff stepped down in June. The company said interim finance chief Wei Li will remain at the company as senior vice president of finance and corporate controller.
Qureshi most recently served as SVP of finance at Expedia Group, overseeing the travel giant’s portfolio of consumer brands. He was CFO of Nike Global Technology, where he oversaw the company’s consumer-facing tech products. Before that, Qureshi spent nearly 19 years at Intel, where he served as senior finance director and head of finance.
“We are thrilled to welcome Fawwad to Trupanion,” said President Margi Tooth. “He joins Trupanion with a pedigree of senior financial leadership in rapidly growing, consumer businesses.”
Trupanion reported revenue of $270.6 million for its second-quarter ended June 30, up 23% from the year-ago period. Its net loss rose to $13.7 million, slightly higher than $13.6 million during last year’s period. The company faces competition from a growing number of pet insurance brands including Lemonade, Spot, Chewy, and others.
