— Hootsuite appointed Elina Vilk as chief marketing officer.
Vilk previously worked as CMO at Woocommerce, an open-source e-commerce plugin for WordPress sites. She also held marketing leadership roles at Meta, PayPal, eBay and Visa.
With the addition of Vilk, Hootsuite’s executive leadership team is now 75% women.
Founded in 2008, Vancouver, B.C.-based Hootsuite lets users manage social media posts across multiple platforms. It is one of the largest privately-held tech startups in Canada.
— David Kipe joined Seattle-based warehousing startup Flexe as chief operating officer. He formerly worked as EVP and COO at Majestic Steel USA, a distributer and processor of flat-rolled steel. Kipe also held operation leadership roles at Global Industrial Company, Scholastic, MSC Industrial Supply Co., and others.
— Absci, which makes generative artificial intelligence tools for drug development, named Zach Jonasson as CFO and chief business officer. He previously sat on Absci’s board of directors as the co-founder and managing general partner at venture capital firms Phoenix Venture Partners and Convergent Ventures. Jonasson, a Harvard PhD graduate, was also the CEO and co-founder of Comera Life Science, a publicly traded biotech company.
