— Michel Combes, a longtime telecommunications and finance executive, rejoined F5’s board of directors. He previously stepped down from the board in 2021 after serving for about three years.
Combes is the executive vice president at global investment firm Claure Group. Before that, he was CEO and president of SoftBank Group for two years, following a two-year stint as president and CEO of Sprint. He also held leadership roles at Altice N.V., Alcatel-Lucent, Vodafone Europe, TDF Group, and France Telecom.
“His experience leading some of the world’s largest telecom operators gives him unparalleled insight into a large segment of F5’s customer base,” F5 board Chair Alan Higginson said in a news release.
F5, a Seattle-based application security and delivery company, reported revenue growth of 4% year-over-year to $703 million in its most recent fiscal quarter. The company cut costs over the past year, including layoffs in April and other expense reductions. It expects revenue between $690 and $710 million for its fourth quarter, in line with estimates. F5 will report earnings on Oct. 24.
—Cheryan Jacob, executive vice president of platform engineering at Flexport, is departing. Jacob, based in the Seattle area, is one of several Flexport execs to leave recently. He previously served as senior vice president and head of platform engineering at Salesforce.
— Marion Desmazières joined San Francisco-based startup studio Purpose Built as venture partner. She was a founding member of Day One Alumni, a network of former Amazon employees. Prior to that, Desmazières was a senior sales manager at Amazon Launchpad.
— Bellevue, Wash.-based Nintex named Mini Peiris as chief marketing officer. She held executive roles at NetSuite, Ambra Health, and Elementum. Peiris most recently served as CMO of real estate tech company Doma.
— April Moh joined San Diego, Calif.-based financial software company Kyriba as CMO. She was senior vice president and chief marketing and communications officer at Suse. Prior to that, Moh was vice president and global head of customer lifecycle marketing at SAP.
— Seattle-based hospital claims and bills auditor company Goodbill appointed Andy McGarvey as chief revenue officer. He was executive vice president of strategic account management at health tech company Zelis.
— Seattle HR consulting company Reverb announced Adeola Mead joined as an advisor to help with employee well-being.
